A Teacher's Advice

An English professor told our class that for all work submitted, we need to put at least an inch of margin on both sides of homework and exam booklets.

“That way you’ll have space if you need to add or change something.” she would say. “It’s very much like in life, you have to give allowances to a lot of things.”

As I moved on, I realized how wise her instruction was.

Her advice followed me throughout life as if it were a mussel attached to a sea rock.

Do you have teacher’s advice that followed you like that?

I hope it's a really good one too.
